A sweet rice pudding dessert!
Kheer or payasam is a sweet rice pudding dessert that is commonly served at festivals and celebrations. It consists of slow-cooked rice, milk, sugar, and spices such as saffron, cardamon, raisins, as well as a variety of nuts. Kheer is believed to be one of the oldest foods in the world, dating back to 400 BC in the epic texts of Ramayana and Mahabharata. It is said to possibly be one of the ancient concoctions of Ayurveda.
