SAFER Pendant

A necklace that sends an emergency signal with two clicks!

A group of five Indian students, Avinash Bansal, Chiraag Kapil, Ayush Banka, Manik Mehta at Delhi Technological University (DTU) and Paras Batra at IIT Delhi invented a women and girls safety device. It is called SAFER, an unassuming pendant that when double-clicked will send an emergency signal and current GPS location to loved ones, the police and nearby users. The pendant is meant to be affordable at Rs 3,500. The necklace is waterproof and the pendant stone comes in Onyx Black, Sapphire Blue and Emerald Green. There is also an app that pairs with the pendant; if the necklace is stolen, the user can mark the device as lost in the app which will then allow the app to track its location to retrieve it. This device is meant to be a quicker option to getting help because not everyone may have time to grab their pepper spray.
