Symbol of love.

The Taj Mahal is a white marble mausoleum located in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India. It took almost two decades to build, from 1632-1653. It was built by the Mughal emperor, Shah Jahān, in honor of his wife, Mumtaz Mahal, also known as “The Chosen One of the Palace.” Jahān spent 32 million rupees for the construction of the ultimate symbol of love. Twenty-eight precious stones were brought from Afghanistan, Tibet, China, Sri Lanka, Arabia, Punjab, and Rajasthan in order to enhance the Taj Mahal. Over 1,000 elephants were used to transport the precious stones.
